Active Release Technique (ART) is a manual therapy directed at treating the soft tissues of the body (muscles, tendons, ligaments) by performing specific movements with added tension along the muscle provided by the practitioner’s thumb or fingers in order to lengthen the muscle. By lengthening the tissue with specific movements, pain can be reduced, range of motion restored, and most importantly it enables the patient to return to their daily activities pain-free
.
ART is effective for treating many conditions such as:
Low Back Pain
Neck pain
Headaches
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Shin Splints
Rotator Cuff Tendonitis
Plantar fasciitis
